LEIPZIG LIEST (Leipzig reads): REGISTRATION FOR EXHIBITORS

Lesung auf einer Bühne vor vollbesetztem Publikum während der Leipziger Buchmesse 2024

Exhibitors can take part in Leipzig Book Fair's literary programme with their own events. Organise readings, discussions and other events together with your authors in the various sub-programmes, including the Book Industry Conference programme, FOKUS BILDUNG (focus on education), the Manga Comic-Con programme and the children's and youth programme. All events will be automatically added to the events catalogue.

Starting 1st October 2024 it will be possible for exhibitors of Leipzig Book Fair 2025 to register events for Leipzig liest [Leipzig reads] via the online ordering system . Further information will be available soon. If you are an English-speaking exhibitor, please send any request on participating in Leipzig liest by e-mail to your assigned project manager in Leipzig. We will then send you all the necessary information.

The deadline for registration for all event requests was 29th November 2024. It is no longer possible to register events for 2025.

Why is an event at the Leipzig liest reading festival ideal to complement your exhibition stand?

  • direct contact with readers (interaction)
  • discussions on the subject and content of the event or book
  • forums at the fair where visitors can discover new stories and content
  • added flair at various distinctive event venues across the city
  • savings on organisation and costs for events
  • opportunities to offer book sales and signings
  • visibility: marketing for your authors, books and company as well as increased media attention if desired

Which venues and formats can I submit event requests for?

When registering, you can select different options depending on whether you plan to hold your event at Leipzig Book Fair, in the city or at the Congress Center Leipzig (CCL).

Rooms of various sizes can be booked at the Congress Center Leipzig (CCL) for private events.

For bookings in the city, our team will arrange a location that fits the theme of your events following registration and consultation.

For events at the trade fair, you can specify your preferred forum or format in your submission. This information will assist the Leipzig liest project team during the planning process. Exhibitors do not have the right to demand that their event be held in the preferred forum or format. All forums at the trade fair are equipped with technical equipment such as microphones, laptops, projectors and screens. An overview of all event locations and thematic forums at the trade fair can be found in our document Information on Holding Events (PDF, 1 MB) .

To what extent can I register events?

The number of events requested is initially decided by the exhibitor. Depending on the size of the stand we try to make these possible in the locations available to us (see table of area keys). In coordination with the Leipzig liest team it is also possible to register event requests that exceed this key.

What does participation cost?

Your payment provides a contribution towards financing the costs of organising events and the costs of the venues. The fee for the Leipzig liest reading festival is used to finance the publishing of the programme.

For main exhibitors, we charge a fee of €45 per published event entry.

Co-exhibitors will be invoiced €99 per event entry when published under the co-exhibitor's name. (Exceptions are digital events, signing sessions and events at the exhibitor's own stand or event location. For these, a fee of €45 will be charged).

How do I register my events?

Once you have been accepted to the next edition of the fair, from 1st October 2024 you will be able to submit your event requests by clicking the "register for Leipzig liest events" link in your exhibitor account .

If co-exhibitors wish to stage an event of their own, they must agree this with the respective main exhibitor because any co-exhibitor events are included in the allowance of the main exhibitor. Co-exhibitors must first be registered via the main exhibitor. Only then can they request the link from leipzig-liest@leipziger-buchmesse.de for registering an event. The event registration deadline of 29.11.2024 also applies to co-exhibitors.

Registration also constitutes an application to be entered into the event database. The Leipzig liest team will consider the applications and confirm which events may take place. Events will be displayed online on our website as well as in the Leipzig Book Fair / Manga-Comic-Con apps.
